About Accessibility Check :

Accessibility Check is a free accessibility checker developed using “miChecker ver1.2” as a verification engine. miChecker is distributed by Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
Accessibility Check allows you to check evaluation of web page accessibility based on the latest web accessibility guidelines “Japanese Industrial Standard JIS X 8341-3:2010”, “W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Standard (WCAG) 2.0” and “US Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act”. In the detailed report, problems are divided into four types – Probably Error, Need Confirmation, Human Check and Error. Clicking on the line/area will guides you to the direct location, so you can easily find more information.
Also, in the “voice usability” frame, you can preview the page with any visual information like images and layout elements excluded. In the “low vision” frame, you can simulate the page according to the given information about “eyesight”, “color vision deficiency” and “crystalline lens transparency”.
Generally, evaluation tools are considered such checkers that output simple results indicating passed or failed. This Accessibility Check tool, however, is not one of them. As for web accessibility, not all evaluating processes can be conducted mechanically.
This tool points both problems that can and cannot be detected mechanically. For example, when an ALT attribute is missing from an image, the tool detects it as “Error” as it is an obvious problem. However, even when an ALT attribute exists, the tool is unable to judge if the given value is appropriate, therefore encourages you to have human check. Based on the evaluation report shown, you (human) need to make a final judgement whether the page fulfills standards for achievement holistically.
